Ngā mihi – the Thrive Trust team
At Thrive Trust, we believe real change happens through long-term relationships, not short-term fixes. We don’t just offer a program—we offer people. Our youth workers journey with young people from primary school through to the end of high school, showing up year after year in the moments that matter.
We combine adventure-based learning, therapeutic theory, and deep connection to help rangatahi build not just coping skills, but confidence, resilience, and hope. Whether through climbing walls or classroom conversations, we use practical tools and proven frameworks to help young people grow into who they were made to be.
We also love connecting with the wider community—offering training to teachers, supporting parents, and speaking at local groups to build a shared language of wellbeing across our region.
We don’t work to tick boxes or clear caseloads—we’re in this for the long haul. Because thriving takes trust, time, and someone who truly sees a young person’s potential. That’s what we bring. That’s why we’re different.
We start early—meeting young people in their pre-teen years to build trust, teach tools, and spark courage. Through adventure programs and honest conversation, we help them name their values, navigate emotions, and believe they have what it takes.
As students step into high school, we don’t step away. We show up week after week—mentoring, supporting, celebrating wins, and sitting in the hard stuff. Our presence is steady, reminding young people they’re not alone and helping them take ownership of their journey.
Thriving doesn’t happen in isolation. We equip the adults too—offering parent info nights, teacher workshops, and speaking at local community groups. Because the best outcomes happen when a whole community is using the same language of hope, resilience, and belonging.
